Seakeeper Ride Now Also Available for Larger Boats
Seakeeper, a leader in marine motion control, has announced the expansion of its marine stabilisation product line, Seakeeper Ride, by introducing two new systems. Designed for boats of approximately 11-13 metres (37-42 feet), the new Seakeeper Ride 750 and Seakeeper Ride 750 Quad join the three existing systems, eliminating up to 70 percent of pitch and roll while underway on boats from 19 feet.
While the two new systems are aimed at the same size range of boats, they differ in the size of the controllers and the type of sterns they fit. The Seakeeper Ride 750 system consists of two larger controllers and is suitable for most boats in this category, while the Seakeeper Ride 750 Quad system uses four smaller controllers, ideal for boats with distinctive sterns that may have hull design elements that limit available space. Both systems have been designed with aluminium components, a change from previous products, to ensure greater strength.
‘Since the launch of Seakeeper Ride two years ago, larger boat owners have been asking for a more powerful Ride system,’ said Andrew Semprevivo, President and CEO of Seakeeper. ‘Through expert modifications to our existing design and extensive testing, we are ready to deliver the ‘wow’ that boaters have come to expect from us, with not one, but two products for this size range, ensuring that every boater gets the full stabilisation experience while boating.’
The Seakeeper Ride 750 system is priced at $17,500, while the Seakeeper Ride 750 Quad system is available for $20,500. Shipments will begin in mid-October.
Features of Seakeeper Ride
Seakeeper Ride offers systems for boats of approximately 19-42 feet and can be installed on hulls with or without steps, made of fibreglass or aluminium, with a cruising speed greater than 20 mph and equipped with a compatible multifunction display (MFD). The controllers mount on the stern of the boat below the waterline. Using proprietary inertial sensing hardware and software, the system takes 1,000 measurements per second to understand the boat’s behaviour in all three axes. It then controls the deployment of custom-designed rotary blades, making 100 adjustments per second to create the necessary lift to automatically manage the boat’s movements.
Seakeeper Ride is standard equipment on many popular boat models, including Sportsman, Scout, Chris-Craft, Jupiter, Tidewater, Edgewater, Key West, SeaHunter, Parker, and others.
