Seakeeper Ride Installation Options
for Boats with Recessed Trim Tab Pockets
If your boat has recessed transom pockets designed for traditional trim tabs, you’ve got two great options for installing Seakeeper Ride. Both will create a smooth, flat transom surface for mounting Seakeeper Ride’s controllers—but vary in time, cost, and installation complexity.
Option 1 Use a Seakeeper Ride Pocket Fit Kit
Easier install. Lower cost. No fiberglass work required.
Our custom 3D-printed Pocket Fit Kits are made-to-order to fill recessed trim tab pockets without the need for fiberglass work. Designed for durability and ease of install, these plug-and-play components are adhesive-mounted and built to handle Seakeeper Ride’s performance loads.
Why choose a Fit Kit?

- Shorter installation time
- Lower overall cost
- Clean, flush surface to mount Seakeeper Ride controllers
- Available in white or black; can accept gel coat for color matching

Pocket Fit Kits are available exclusively through an authorized Seakeeper Ride dealer.
Your dealer will confirm model, make, and year compatibility and place the order with your system.

Option 2 Traditional Fiberglass Pocket Fill
A custom solution through your local dealer.
Prefer not to use a Pocket Fit Kit, or your model isn’t yet supported? You can work with your local dealer or fiberglass specialist to professionally create the surfaces needed for Seakeeper Ride installation using materials to match your original hull. While this process takes longer and may cost more, it ensures a fully flush transom surface ready for Seakeeper Ride installation.

FAQS
Seakeeper Ride Pocket Fit Kits are 3D-printed using PETG, a durable material selected for its strength, fatigue resistance, and compatibility with our approved 2-part adhesives (Sci Grip is recommended).
Yes! We recommend the Pocket Fit Kits be painted or gel coated for a seamless look. Gel coat adheres well with minimal surface prep.
Bottom paint is recommended for systems that will be submerged for more than two weeks at a time. Instructions can be found here.
Yes, an alcohol wipe is all you need to remove dirt and oil and then the adhesives do the rest of the work.
No. The Pocket Fit Kits are designed to handle the required loads without any fiberglass work.
Due to its rib-and-shell structure, there are open volumes within each Pocket Fit Kit as well as joints between components. The Pocket Fit Kits are not intended to provide watertight surfaces, therefore drilling into the Pocket Fit Kit may result in water intrusion. It is not recommended to route the controller cables through the Pocket Fit Kits using the concealed cable entry method of installation.
This is not recommended as Seakeeper Ride has vetted and approved vendors who meet the necessary requirements needed to handle our printing specifications and quality standards.
Currently, we support white and black Pocket Fit Kit options. Custom paint or gel coat can be applied during install to match your boat’s finish after installation.
Contact your authorized Seakeeper Ride dealer to verify availability based on your boat’s make, model, and year. They will also discuss pricing and lead time.
